Why connect your tank
to a mobile app?

Low-level alert, consumption monitoring, history and family sharing: discover all that connectivity brings to the management of your tank.

We live in a connected world. Our watches, bulbs, thermostats: everything is accessible from a smartphone. Yet, many Belgian owners still check the water level the old-fashioned way, opening a hatch and dipping a stick into the tank.

With the Tankio connected gauge, your tank joins the digital age. No need to visit the tank: your tank level is displayed in real time on your phone, wherever you are. This is why it is a real change in everyday life.

visibility 1. See your tank level in real time

The home screen of the tankio application shows you at a glance the precise level of your tank, expressed in litres, percentage or height. No approximation, no random reading: an exact value, updated several times a day.

What you see in the app

  • Current level with intuitive visual gauge (green/orange/red).
  • Volume remaining in litres, calculated according to the exact shape of your tank.
  • Estimated remaining days before failure, with integrated weather correction.
  • Last update with a timestamp and LoRa signal quality.

No need to go down to the cellar on weekends with a flashlight. A look at your phone and you know exactly where you are. From your couch, your office or even on vacation.

notifications 2. Push alerts: never forget anything again

The real advantage of the app is its customisable alerts. You set the thresholds that interest you, and the application automatically warns you when they are reached.

Types of alerts available

  • Low-level alert: Be aware when the tank reaches 25%, 20%, 15% or 10%.
  • Reserve alert: a custom reminder when the available water may become insufficient before a chosen date.
  • Overconsumption alert: detection of abnormally high consumption.
  • Level-rise alert: notification when the level rises after rain or an authorised water top-up.

Notifications are sent by push on your smartphone (iOS and Android) and can also be received by email for those who prefer. You can set different alerts for each type of tank.

Example: when you are away, a low-level alert lets you reduce non-essential water use remotely and prevent the pump from running dry.

history 3. Consumption history and analysis

The tankio application retains the complete history of your water consumption. You can view your data day by day, month by month or year by year.

Available analyses

  • Consumption Graph: daily, weekly, monthly and annual curve.
  • Interannual comparison: Compare your consumption with last year.
  • Seasonal estimate: View trends by season.
  • Level tracking: history of rainfall, level rises and consumption.

This data is valuable for optimising your water consumption. For example, you can see the impact of a change of season or new equipment. The application transforms raw data into concrete decisions to better manage your reserve.

layers 4. Multi-tank management: several tanks in one app

Do you have a rainwater tank and a borehole water tank? The tankio application manages both simultaneously. Each tank has its own page, its own alerts and its own history.

The home screen shows you a summary dashboard with the levels of all your tanks. You can switch from one to another with a tap. This is particularly useful for owners with several water reserves.

Multi-tank management also lets you compare consumption and detect anomalies more easily between different points of use.

group 5. Family sharing: the whole family informed

The Tankio app lets you share access to your tanks with family members. Everyone receives their own notifications and can check the levels, so you all know when to limit non-essential water use.

How does it work?

  • Invitation: email an invitation to your spouse, children or caretaker.
  • Roles: Set roles (administrator, viewer) to control permissions.
  • Notifications: Each member receives alerts based on their profile.

Sharing is particularly useful for second homes or holiday homes. You can monitor your tank remotely and ask a neighbour or guardian to intervene if necessary.

compare_arrows 6. Connected comfort vs manual check

Let's take stock between the traditional approach and the connected tankio solution. The difference is clear.

Criteria Manual verification Tankio app
Time required 5-10 min (go to the cellar, open, read, close) 3 seconds (open app)
Frequency Once a month (at best) Several times a day (automatic)
Accuracy Approximate (±10-20%) ± 2 litres
Alerts None (discovered too late) Customizable push notifications
Background None Complete with graphs
Remote access Impossible From anywhere in the world
Sharing Not possible With the whole family
Physical constraint High (going downstairs, bending down, sometimes getting dirty) None

Beyond comfort, it is the peace of mind that makes the difference. Knowing that your tank is monitored 24/7, and that you will be warned in case of a problem, is priceless.
