Is the Tankio gauge difficult to install?
No, installation takes less than 10 minutes (5 to 10 minutes in practice). Simply place the sensor in your tank and connect it via its LoRa gateway connected to the internet. In most cases, no drilling is required. Visit our dedicated page: installation in a rainwater tank.
What is the battery life?
The Tankio gauge uses a high-capacity battery. Thanks to the sensor’s very low power consumption, battery life exceeds 3 years under normal operating conditions.
How do I know the level of my tank remotely?
Data is transmitted via the LoRa network (long range, low power consumption) and available in the Tankio mobile app. You can view the level in real time from anywhere, receive alerts and analyze your consumption history. How accurate is the tankio gauge?
Hydrostatic pressure measurement technology offers accuracy to the nearest liter, or approximately ±2L, compared to ±20L for ultrasound and ±100L for a manual gauge. Check out our technology comparison to find out more.
Is it compatible with all tanks?
Our sensors are compatible with the majority of above-ground or underground tanks, whether plastic or metal, for Rainwater. We support depths of up to 5 meters.
Does the system detect leaks?
Yes. tankio analyzes abnormal level variations and sends a notification in the event of a suspected leak, to allow you to intervene quickly. Check out our guide to detect a leak in a rainwater tank.
Can I use a single sensor for several tanks?
Each tank requires its own sensor. The application allows you to track several sensors simultaneously and name them to easily identify them (e.g. “main tank”, “garden tank”).
What happens during a power or internet outage?
The sensor continues to measure the level and stores the data locally. The data syncs automatically once the connection is restored. The battery lasts for years, so you don't have to do anything.
Do I need a subscription?
Access to data and alerts on the mobile app is completely free, with no subscriptions or hidden fees.
Can I have tankio installed by a professional?
Installation is designed to take 5–10 minutes without tools. If you prefer professional installation, we work with partner installers in Belgium, including water-system specialists and plumbers. Contact us to find an installer near you.
